Nicholas attained his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center. During his tenure at the University of Houston Law Center, Nicholas was a law clerk for a well-known personal injury law firm. Nicholas also participated as a student attorney in the UHLC Texas Innocence Network Clinic that specializes in exonerating inmates wrongfully convicted of crimes by evaluating, investigating, and litigating claims of actual innocence. Nicholas also participated as a student attorney in the UHLC Juvenile Capital Advocacy Project that specializes in reducing juvenile crime, reducing juvenile delinquency, and improving long-term educational success rates and life outcomes for socially and economically disadvantaged juveniles.
